Legacy
The West Towns (IL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated was chartered on June 13, 1976, by twenty-two visionary women from Chicago’s western suburbs who were committed to expanding opportunities for African American youth.
Friendship
Friendship is the cornerstone of the West Towns (IL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, anchoring every act of service in trust, love, and shared purpose. The bonds we build strengthen our connections and empower us to use our individual gifts and talents in meaningful, transformative ways.
Service
Since 1976, members of the West Towns (IL) Chapter have faithfully served children, adults, and families throughout the western suburbs of Chicago—extending our reach nationally and internationally. Through our five dynamic programming facets, we have remained committed..
Under the leadership of the 50th Anniversary Committee and Fundraising Committee, members worked tirelessly alongside the South Suburban (IL) Chapter to host a joint commemorative brunch honoring our cherished charter members and the enduring sisterhood, leadership, and community impact cultivated across both chapters. The chapter also hosted a successful 50th Anniversary fundraising celebration that united community members, partners, supporters, and distinguished guests in support of scholarships and transformational programming benefiting families and communities throughout the western suburbs of Chicago. Special recognition is extended to 50th Anniversary Chair Dianne Engram, 50th Anniversary Fundraising Chair Candace Sharp, and Fundraising Co-Chair Mia Woods for their visionary leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to preserving our legacy while advancing our mission for future generations.
